The effect the weather has on this town

By amyloucav

It’s interesting how the town has evolved, or how I think it has anyway.

At eye level, everything is new; modern cars, boats, stores etc. However, if you look up a bit, you can see the old towers and the tops of all of the buildings. All of the stores have been built into the ground floor of these buildings, which are made of stone.

So on a day like today, with a dense fog hanging low, it feels like I’ve been transported back to the old La Rochelle. I was walking into town early and from a distance I could only see the top of the towers (think the top of a castle) the very top of the yachts and the roofs of the buildings. I wanted to take a photo but I knew it wouldn’t even come close to showing this effect.

Try taking a photo. You won’t know if it conveys what you want until you take it, review it on a larger screen, then ultimately post it for us to see.

Worst case scenario you simply post it with a little description. I for one would like to see these things. So, give it a try.
